Khenyeza: Rediscovering My Old Self

30 January 2012

Mabhuti Khenyeza was initially expected to join SuperSport United from Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season but after the two clubs agreed on a multi-player deal, the 29-year-old was able to join the Gavin Hunt-coached outfit during the January transfer window.

On Sunday, yesterday, he played in the colours of his new team in a club friendly against NFD side Carara Kicks. The striker scored the opening goal in SuperSport’s 6-0 win, netting in the second-half after the opening 45 minutes ended goalless.

Khenyeza came on as a second-half substitute and made his presence felt with an immediate impact, putting the ball into the back of the net.

After the game the Siya crew caught up with the former Ajax Cape Town striker who said that he feels rejuvenated at Matsatsantsa.

"I can tell you that I am happy to be playing here now. I needed a new environment and I am rediscovering my old self. That is what I needed and I want to contribute to SuperSport United's success this season," the former Kaizer Chiefs striker expressed.
