Kadi Charged With Assault!

03 December 2012

The Siya crew can reveal that Wits striker, Calvin Kadi, spent the night behind bars after he allegedly hit a female patron at a popular night club in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Sunday night.

According to Soccer-Laduma informants, Dolezar, as Kadi is affectionately known, is still in custody and will in all likeliness miss Wits’ Absa Premiership clash against University of Pretoria on Wednesday night.

The crew caught up with the female patron for comment on the incident, who asked to be mentioned by her twitter handle, @LadyPulser, instead of her real name so as to “to avoid drama”.

“We were out clubbing with my friends when we saw Calvin with his friends. We’ve known each other for more than two years now, so we greeted and chatted for a while and everyone was happy. He told me he was having a house-warming party on his birthday (December 12) in Roodeport and that I was invited. I said ‘that’s cool’ and then I left.

“Then I went to chat to other guys that I know and there was this guy who was hitting on me and kept asking if I was fine in terms of drinks and all that. I told him we were fine,” she explained.

According to the lady, all hell broke loose when she returned to where she was standing, close to Kadi and his friends.

She added, “He told me I was no longer invited at his party. I was surprised and asked him what’s with the sudden change of heart? He said nothing and I was like, ‘Arg whatever!’ He then threatened to spill his drink on me and I promised to return the favour.

“I thought he was just kidding because that was nothing new, as he likes to say it and then put ice blocks in my bag. The next thing he spilled his drink on me and I did the same! Before I knew it, I was bleeding as he hit me with a beer bottle that was on the table. The management at the club handled everything and called the police. They took me to hospital to get stitched and then went to the police station, where he was.”

“I asked to go speak to him and he told me, ‘It’s fine, at least now I know I can’t trust anyone.’ As if he wants me to feel guilty and probably drop the charges, which isn’t going to happen.

“His friends are now busy telling me to please drop the charges because he has an important game on Wednesday but that means my well being isn’t important. Just because he’s a public figure, doesn’t give him a right to do as he pleases and think he’s going to get away with it. Not when we promote 16 days of Activism against women and child abuse.

“It happened in full view of everyone at the club and he has absolutely no reason to assault me. I gave my statement and laid the charges and he’s in jail as we speak.”

“No woman should keep quiet about things like this, let them come forward and in the open about it,” concluded the lady.

Kadi’s cell phone was on voicemail throughout the day. The crew then put a call through to the Sandton police station, where Kadi was said to being held, and Constable Nkuna confirmed Kadi’s presence at the station.

“I’d be lying if I told you what happened but the only thing I know is that a charge has been laid against him, so we don’t know what really happened. He’s here but should be released in a couple of hours time and then he will appear in court tomorrow (Tuesday),” revealed Nkuna.

Guys i have read all the comments but non of us were there. No person can just hit someone without being aggravated. I know this chic and this is not her first incident with a soccer player, she is what a soccer babe. She is just trying to get attention and a quick buck from this whole thing. Why didnt she mention what she did and said after the spilling of alcohol scene happened. i wont say much but she knows the truth. Pulser or should i say Lebo if you such a victim tell the truth not half truth girly.

I dnt need to know Calvin Kadi in person to be able to tell that he's arrogant. Just by listening to his interviews, you can tell what kind of a person he is.

I get angry when things like dis happen, what kind of a man hits a woman,we al knw dat women wil never shut their mouths, even when they R wrong. So why do u not act like a real man & walk away. If I was a president, I would support the fact dat dis guys "beating women" should be hanged. Go 2 hel Kadi.
