Dejan: We Will Beat Chiefs Again

07 December 2012

Dejan Miladinovic

Orlando Pirates fans hope that history will repeat itself when their team face current PSL log leaders, Kaizer Chiefs, on Saturday afternoon.

Pirates emerged victorious the last time the two teams faced each other in the league in March an the defending league champions will be hoping for another win to close the gap at the summit of the log, while Chiefs aim to keep their title aspirations intact ahead of the Christmas recess.

Bucs’ prominent supporter, Dejan Miladinovic, believes that the return of Bafana Bafana’s all time leading goal scorer, Benni McCarthy, and influential players like Siyabonga Sangweni and Sifiso Myeni is a huge boost to the squad.

“The Pirates fans are looking forward to the game. They don’t believe that we can be beaten by Kaizer Chiefs. The good thing about the derby is that we’ve got a lot of our players coming back. McCarthy is back and so are Myeni and Sangweni. The guys are ready to go and I don’t think that under the leadership of our captain, Lucky Lekgwathi, they will disappoint us. They know what is at stake and I believe that we will beat Chiefs again. We beat them the last time and I believe we can do it again. Our guys at the back are playing very well. Lucky Lekgwathi, Sangweni, Matlaba and Phungwayo are all playing nicely. I don’t have a problem with any of the goalkeepers. Any one of them, who is ready to play, can play. All the goalkeepers at Orlando Pirates can do a good job. Senzo (Meyiwa) has been given a chance and is doing well. We need a clean sheet against Kaizer Chiefs. Orlando Pirates fans know that this is a big match and will be going to the FNB Stadium in huge numbers to watch the derby. They must make sure that they come to the stadium early to take their correct positions where they belong,” said Miladinovic.
