Debate: Why Can't Chiefs Cope With The Capetonians?
02 March 2011
A lacklustre Kaizer Chiefs paid the price for a stuttering performance against PSL rookies Vasco Da Gama in last night's PSL fixture at the Athlone Stadium, dropping two valuable points and suffering a serious setback to their title hopes.
They were harrassed and frustrated by their lowly opponents and had no attacking antidote to Vasco's ten-man defence. But then, it should be no surprise to see the Amakhosi outwitted by men from the Mother City.
They were stomped 3-2 by Vasco in the earlier round and were held 2-2 at Santos when gifted with an opportunity to go top. They have just two points from a possible 15 with a tricky encounter against high-flying Ajax Cape Town to follow.
Is it a case of the Pefeni Glamour Boys saving their energies for their bigger upcountry rivals and discounting their counterparts in the Cape? Does the climate play a factor or is it the wind? And what about the style of football?
Why can't Chiefs cope with the Capetonians?

Mr ur topic is out of line, but let me answer u in south Africa there n old team Rats n the is a big team which means each n every player in the psl wish to play for chiefs, so wen they play chiefs they make sure that they play to get contracts from chiefs, that mean playing chief its a motivation in itself.Plus cape town teams tey just play to draw Chiefs so bylike they manage to beat Chiefs.

Ask urself this question: has any team in the world ever won the lig while adopting ultra-defensive tactics? We all know the answer. Bar ajax, who play 1ndaful futball, the cape teams prefer counterattacks while visiting n when at home, they settle 4 a draw. They dont play 2 win lig but 2 stay in psl. No excuses: my team was bad maabane. 4life of course

Keizer Chiefs will not cope with this cape guys. They have a way of building walls of jericho against chiefs. They are very defensive and they have good game plans when it comes to counter attacks. Keizer chiefs better change a strategy, they need to sing song of praises and go around the defense seven times. Maybe that will help. Or they will have to consult other teams that are able to do it in cape!!!
