De Sa: We Made It Hard
13 February 2013
Orlando Pirates coach Roger De Sa admits that his team made things hard for themselves but was happy with their 1-0 win over SuperSport United.
The Sea Robbers spent majority of the 90 minutes trying to keep out long balls forward after taking the lead two minutes into the game.
De Sa believes that a second goal would have changed the game, but was pleased to move top despite it being a hard-fought battle.
"We made it hard. We made it difficulat for ourselves. We could have gone 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes really. The ball was up in the air the whole day. It think today's game you could have watched from outside... long balls, long throws. There was not much football," he said.
"We never really played out of it. If we had scored a second goal, maybe we would have settled down a bit. We made it difficult, even with a missed penalty. But maybe it's a good time to miss a penalty when you win. Glad with the three points.
"It was a good start for us, important for us to win the game. SuperSport are a tough team, they are very direct. Senzo (Meyiwa) never made a save, their goalkeeper was Man of the Match, so maybe we won it convincingly. We had the better chances without a doubt."
