Chippa Wait On Mngomeni
20 November 2012
Chippa United are waiting on former Wits midfielder Thando Mngomeni to return to the team for further assessment by the club’s technical team. Mngomeni is currently without a club, having parted ways with The Students at the end of last season.
The Gugulethu-born player recently started training with Chippa in the hope of securing a PSL deal and resurrecting his professional football career, while being close to his family and friends in the Western Cape.
A reliable source within the Chilli Boys camp explained to the Siya crew that they are expecting Mngomeni back with the team after he left them to sort out some personal issues in Johannesburg.
“Thando left us to sort personal stuff in Jo’burg. We’re still expecting him back but that will depend on him and his willingness to return. He was given a chance to train with us. But he left for Jo’burg and it’s been a while now,” said the source.
Mngomeni’s football career started in Cape Town when he turned out for Santos, between 2000 and 2002. He has since played for a number of clubs during his career, including the likes of Mamelodi Sundowns and Helsingborgs IF of Sweden.

His state of health seems to be dissatisfying! He looks to be not going back to Chippa.
