Chippa’s Decision On De Villiers To Follow
07 December 2012
Chippa United have allowed Richard de Villiers to leave although it is in all likelihood that he will get another opportunity to sign with the side. De Villiers was on trial with the team recently.
The team’s head coach Farouk Abrahams, who was initially a goalkeeper trainer when he joined the side, had a closer look at the 24-year-old shot-stopper with a view to add him to his squad.
A well-placed source in the camp of the Chilli Boys confirmed with the Siya crew that De Villiers impressed Abrahams during his trial with the team.
“The coach is planning to invite him again in January. The coach has plans for him. He will make a decision at a right time. Farouk is passionate about goalkeeping. All the players that were on trial have been allowed to leave. We will make a decision on the ones that we need back,” said the source.
