Chippa Expect Risser For AmaZulu Game
10 December 2012
PSL side Chippa United are hoping to have their new signing, Wilko Risser, available for selection when they play AmaZulu later this month.
The Siya crew reported last week that the Chilli Boys had tabled an offer for the Namibian striker and that a move was imminent.
Now, after the deal was confirmed, the club’s chairman, Chippa Mpengesi, explained that they were waiting for him to receive his South African identity document.
Mpengesi told the crew, “Now he’s signed we’re now waiting for his South African citizenship, we’ve signed a deal with him. Namibia used to be under South Africa, so if you were born before 1990 you can get citizenship. We’ve started the process, we’re hoping that he’s going to play when we play AmaZulu.”
It is thought that Risser has signed a deal until the end of the season with Chippa, but it features a two-year option should he impress during the first few months of his time in Mzansi.
