Chiefs Snatch Youngster From Bucs
18 January 2012
The Siya crew can exclusively reveal that Orlando Pirates development product, Wesley Ntshangase, arrived at Naturena this week and is training with Bucs’ rivals, Kaizer Chiefs.
In issue 747 of Soccer-Laduma, the Siya crew revealed that Ntshangase, otherwise known as Viera in football circles, was targeted by Pirates’ first team after performing well in the club’s junior ranks.
A source close to the player confirmed to the Siya crew that the talented young central midfielder is training with Chiefs after being invited by the team’s assistant coach, Ace Khuse.
“He was at Pirates and the coach there, Julio Leal, was impressed and wanted to sign him for the first team. In fact, Leal always wanted him and he even tried to sign him for (Moroka) Swallows at the time he was the coach there. But Pirates and his agent (Thabo Moloto) didn’t agree on the terms and the player has since left for Chiefs without Pirates knowing about it.
“He disappeared on Monday after the morning training session and went to Chiefs and trained with them in the afternoon. His agent has already submitted a proposal to Bobby (Motaung) and it looks like the deal may be concluded soon.
“I don’t think that Bra Stan (Tshabalala) and the rest of the Pirates officials know that the player has his clearance with him because it was given to him by Floyd (Mbele) before he left (for Platinum Stars),” revealed the source.
The Siya crew has been informed that Pirates offered Viera a R30 000 sign on-fee and R9 000 for his services but that was viewed as too little by his agent.

I am happy that my team is continuing with their policy of recruiting youngsters for the future of the team as well as developing a culture of football that is synonymous with the style of play of the club. Ayo Khosi, Rome was never built in one day. Its true that other teams are busy buying big name players which is good for their goals but we are looking @long-term goals. The future will look bright for us if we keep sticking to our plans. Rise Khosi Rise!
