Result: Chiefs 3-0 Arrows
Date: 6 November 2012
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium
Kaizer Chiefs put on a dominant display to smash Golden Arrows 3-0 in their league clash at the Peter Makoba Stadium on Tuesday night.
Majoro had his first chance just two minutes in when his delightful run to the near post was picked out but he saw his strike tipped over.
Justine Zulu had a rare chance for the visitors in the 11th minute when a corner found him unmarked at the far post but his strike through a group of players went straight to Itumeleng Khune.
Majoro would go on to open the scoring three minutes later when he was picked out by Siphiwe Tshabalala after a sweeping move and he curled a first-time finish around the goalkeeper.
Three minutes later he had another chance but chose to try a downward header, instead of a shot, and he fluffed the chance. The forward was then picked out again in the area moments later by the excellent Siyabonga Nkosi but his header went straight to Pavels Steinbors.
Philani Shange went down in the area at the other end in the 25th minute but he seemed to be off balance already and his theatrical roll saw him receive a yellow card.
Tshabalala fired over after good work by George Lebese in the 27th minute while Lebese's swerving drive sailed inches over eight minutes later.
Arrows then suffered a blow when Stanton Lewis was forced off with a hamstring injury and replaced by Thamsanqa Gabuza.
Majoro would hook a shot across the face of goal in the dying minutes and the sliding Matthew Rusike was unable to get a touch.
Arrows showed a little more confidence after the break with Shange flashing a shot just wide eight minutes in while Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Keegan Ritchie rifled just wide at the other end.
Kingston Nkhatha, who had come on in the 66th minute for Matthew Rusike, nodded wide from close range in the 73rd minute when it seemed easier to score before Arrows saw a penalty claim turned down to their disbelief soon after.
Just a minute later Nkhatha would finally ease the nerves for Chiefs when he beat the goalkeeper to a long ball over the top and nodded it past him at the edge of the area.
The former Black Leopards man was not done though and in the 81st minute he brought down another lofted pass before thundering his finish in at the near post.
Substitute Kaizer Motaung Junior went in late on goalkeeper Steinbors in the 85th minute, which resulted in a yellow card for the forward and a bit of a delay.
Nine minutes of injury was added but no more goals arrived as Chiefs saw out a comfortable victory and extended their lead at the top of the table.
