Celtic Assess Zambian Striker
07 December 2012
Bloemfontein Celtic coach, Clinton Larsen, and his technical team have handed Zambian striker Alfred Luputa a trial with the team. Siwelele need more strikers to boost the team’s attacking options despite having already won the Telkom Knockout in the current campaign.
It was reported on the Soccer-Laduma web and mobi-site that Luputa was to begin his trial with the Mangaung-based outfit after the team’s participation in the final of the Telkom Knockout.
Celtic’s CEO Khumbulani Konco confirmed that the 23-year-old player’s trial with the team is underway. Luputa belongs to Zesco United in the Zambian Premier League.
He is expected to be at Celtic for a while before the club could make a decision on him. Luputa is hoping to impress the technical team for a chance to further his career in the PSL and to emulate countryman Clifford Mulenga in the process.
Mulenga had an impressive stay with Celtic before securing a move to SuperSport United this season.
