Brazilians Ease Into Semi-Finals

Telkom Knockout
Result: AmaZulu 0-2 Mamelodi Sundowns
Date: 3 November 2012
Venue: King Zwelithini Stadium
Referee: Jerome Damon
Mamelodi Sundowns booked their place in the semi-finals of the Telkom Knockout as they defeated ten-man AmaZulu 2-0 on Saturday.
Eleazar Rodgers and Teko Modise were on target for the Brazilians as Usuthu’s tough season took another defeat. Carlington Nyandombo was the man sent off for the KZN-based team.
After a slow start it took 15 minutes for Sundowns to create the first chance of the match when a weak clearing header from Nyandombo fell to the feet of Anthony Laffor. The midfielder unleashed a thunderous shot, but Nkiyo Tshabangu managed to block the ball and clear it to safety.
There was a scary moment for AmaZulu when Philani Zikalala made a hash of collecting a back pass, but the onrushing Laffor failed to capitalise on the Usuthu keeper’s mistake.
The Brazilians continued to attack and nearly got the opener on 25 minutes when Rodgers rose above the defence and connected with a header, but Zikala comfortably made the save.
Sundowns were then given a huge opportunity when Modise’s powerful shot struck Nyadombo’s arm and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the penalty spot. A confident Laffor, however, couldn’t convert the spot-kick as Zikalala dived the right way and palmed the ball out to safety.
Seven minutes after the break Rodgers got the opener when he beat the offside trap and produced a clinical finish from a tight angle which finally openend his account for the Brazilians.
Usuthu were then rocked when Nyadombo was given an early exit from the match after collecting his second yellow card of the match.
Sundowns tried to capitalise on having the man advantage and nearly did so with ten minutes remaining, but both Rodgers and Modise missed the target with strong headers.
A clumsy challenge from Nkanyiso Cele on Nyasha Mushekwi resulted in Sundowns receiving their second penalty of the match. Modise stroked home the goal which wrapped up the result for Sundowns.

They keep saying it was a scrappy win, we are going to take this cup as and they will continue singing the same stupid song "it was a fluke win" how can u even say a 2-O clear win is a fluke win? Some people are so stupid to such extent that one might think that they weren't raised by human beings, seems like some people here we raised by monkeys!!
