Botes Going Nowhere

20 November 2012

Platinum Stars striker, Henrico Botes, will not be leaving the club in the near future, despite his recent vein of rich form.

It was thought by many that the Namibian international would see his current Dikwena contract come to an end in June, however a source at the club has confirmed that this is not the case and that the 32-year-old has still got  18-months left to run on his deal.

While the former Moroka Swallows man has only scored two goals this season, he has assisted a number of others and played a large role in helping Cavin Johnson’s men to five wins on the bounce.

Botes will play a crucial role in trying to make sure that Stars retain their place in the PSL’s top three and fans of the club will be happy to know that nobody will be able to poach the striker on a pre-contract, come the start of next year.

Who in the right mind would want to buy a striker for the sake of him assisting other strikers to to score. A striker who is on form is the one that scores goal and it ends there, or else he is doing middlefielders job.
