Bafana Afcon Squad!

Soccer-Laduma can confirm the names of the players set to represent South Africa at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in January.
Coach Gordon Igesund announced the 23-man squad today after months of planning and preparation.
The former Moroka Swallows tactician had a close look at all available players during recent friendly internationals and has decided on the players below, based on fitness and form.
Goalkeepers: Itumeleng Khune, Wayne Sandilands, Senzo Meyiwa.
Defenders: Anele Ngcongca, Siboniso Gaxa, Tsepo Masilela, Thabo Matlaba, Siyabonga Sangweni, Bongani Khumalo, Thabo Nthethe.
Midfielders: Thulani Serero, Lerato Chabangu, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Dean Furman, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Thusa Phala, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, May Mahlangu, Oupa Manyisa.
Strikers: Bernard Parker, Katlego Mphela, Tokelo Rantie, Lehlohonolo Majoro.

@Makhalas,it is indeed going down,the playerz u just mentioned were together during U/20 and U/23. Continuity is very important since playerz like Maluleka,Jali,Mathoho,Serero,Doutie,Erasmus,Classen know each other very well from junior national teamz. I think the problem is with S(iy)AFA for GI a performance based contract and unrealistic goalz to achieve i.e. Qualifying for 2014 World Cup. team is well balanced considering different styles of attacking we can use, looking at how skillful and experienced our midfield n strikers are...we are going for the kill! whether mathoho and whoever is not there...only 23 guys are needed

Bongani Khumalo is the weakest link. Why did Gordon leave Teko, Jali, Matoho, G. Maluleke.....the national team is going down

We had Xulu, G.Maluleka, Erasmas,Jali, ....... b4 2010 world cup and thought they were be in bafana by now. Abanye babo, coaches in their local teams, others aren't @ their best of perfomance. Even if it wasn't all that they'd have not been called. All these Coaches are scared of utshintsho.

So according to coach Igusund Dikgacoi is better than Jali, Khumalo is better than Mathoho and that Teko had to be excluded to keep that Furman there, hmmmmm! Nc nc nc nc!
