AmaZulu Want Specific Striker
25 January 2012
AmaZulu communications manager, Philani Mabaso, told the Siya crew that the club’s technical team have not yet identified a potential striker since the proposed deal with their prime target, Sifiso Vilakazi, fell through.
The Durban-based side is in search of an experienced striker as coach Roger Palmgren and his technical team look to bolster their forward line.
“The coach only wants a striker and that is the position we want. That’s why we wanted Sifiso Vilakazi because we identified him as the striker we need to add to the players we already have.
“So, when the deal didn’t happen because of the player’s family commitments we couldn’t do anything. The thing is that, we don’t just need any striker but we want a particular type of a player.
“We don’t need someone who is the same, I know that players are not the same, but we need someone who will give us a different dimension from what we already have. The PSL does not have the kind of strikers we want,” said Mabaso.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu have the likes of Ayanda Dlamini, Stanton Lewis and Tangeni Shipahu at the coach’s disposal.
