Allie: We Need Consistency
21 February 2012
Santos chairman, Goolam Allie, thinks that his side need to take their important 3-1 victory over Wits at the weekend and push on.
The win was The People’s Teams’ first victory of 2012 and also their first under their coach, Duncan Crowie, and it will have lifted a huge weight off the shoulders of their players.
Crowie’s next challenge will be to follow up his first win with another, this time against city rivals, in-form Ajax Cape Town, when the two teams meet this weekend and he will be hoping that new signings, Matty Pattison, Nasief Morris and Gert Schalkwyk, can all continue their good start to their Santos careers.
Allie believes that beating The Students needs to be just the start, he told the Siya crew, “It was a good win, they must gain confidence from it but the team needs to learn that consistency is the order of the day, starting with the derby game against Ajax.”
Ajax and Santos meet at 20.15 on Saturday night at Cape Town Stadium.
