Ajax Appoint Versleijen

As predicted by the Siya crew, Ajax Cape Town have finally appointed Dutchman Jan Versleijen as their head coach.
The crew reported last week that Jan Pruijn’s days at the helm of the Urban Warriors were numbered and that Versleijen was due to be appointed within a matter of days.
Using his personal twitter account, Versleijen confirmed that he would no longer be the Head of Technical Affairs and would be taking over as the head coach.
The Dutchman tweeted, “From today I am appointed as the new Head coach of Ajax Cape Town, looking forward to starting this new challenge.”
It remains to be seen whether Pruijn will continue to hold a role with the club, although he may be redeployed back to his position as Head of Technical Affairs, that Versleijen has just left.
Ajax have endured a tough first half of the season this campaign, in the PSL, and with the signings of Abia Nale and Mabhuti Khenyeza, on loan, as well as the added incentive of a new coach, fans of the club will be hoping for a better 2013.
