Afcon 2013 Tickets Launched
06 September 2012
The 2013 edition of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations will be hosted in South Africa next year, between January 19 and February 9. The Afcon’s LOC announced this morning at SAFA House in Nasrec, Johannesburg, that tickets for the continental show piece will go on sale later this month.
The LOC’s CEO, Mvuzo Mbebe, said that they took both the Afcon 2013 and CHAN 2014 into consideration, on deciding for the appropriate platform. He said they want the tickets to be accessible and affordable to both the South African public and Africa in general.
"We have worked with a top company, in Ernest and Young, to come at the right pricing of tickets. We looked at the timing of the tournament as well, knowing that this is a post Christmas tournament. And also that schools will be opening, and considered the traveling African comrades who will need accommodation," Mbebe said.
TICKET PRICES: Ticket prices will range between R50 and R200.
Category 1: R70
Category 2: R60
Category 3: 50
Opening Game: R50 to R200
Quarter-finals: R70 to R100
Semi-finals: R80 to R100
Final: R100 to R200
Tickets will be on sale from September 26 at kiosks in selected Spar outlets across the country, and will be available through an LOC call centre and official website.
