2012 Walter Sisulu Challenge Launched
20 November 2012
The 2012 Discovery Walter Sisulu Soccer Challenge was officially launched on Tuesday at the Nike Centre in Soweto. The annual football tournament brings together both male and female Under-17 teams from across the country.
The tournament is in its 10th year of existence and will be played between December the 2nd and the 27th. Discovery sponsorship manager, Sandile Mkari, told the Siya crew that as a company they are proud to be sponsoring an event which has since become a highlight on the Gauteng footballing calendar.
He said that they will continue supporting the event and in turn help nurture some of the country’s young talent. "It is also an excellent platform for young players to showcase their soccer talent and for the Soweto community to enjoy brilliant soccer right on their doorsteps,” said Mkari.
He added, “To promote awareness of the importance of health screenings and drive health eating in the community, and to do that we have organized a Discovery Community Festival on 16 December.”
The tournament will host 32 teams in the male section and 16 in the female category. Some of the players who have participated in this tournament include Thulani Serero, Oupa Manyisa, Sifiso Myeni, Edward Manqele and Portia Modise.

The last two comments are from ungrateful little bastxxds , do you guys know the meaning of sacrifice? . . . . You should try doing something for someone else(not family member) without expecting anything and maybe you'll get recognition .
