I think in the progress of the tournament Algeria will be the missing link as I rate in top among power house of football in Africa. This Algerian team is playing a good football, full of energy and enthusiasm. Togo were on top öf their game and i think Wome marketed PSL in Africa in style with his goal as he ply his trade in South Africa. Algeria is definitely out but the fact remain they are playing very well, they presented themselves in dignity.

Arsenal team Wenger is nothing if not goat-ishly unswerving in his convictions, closing on that rather poignant decade since their last trophy, to have eschewed the traditional weakening of his team against opposition from a lower division. Olivier Giroud's brace against a weakened and astonishing late strike from Walcott have sent them to reach next round with a breathless, boisterously fought - still unconvincingly. For the team it was another moment of alarmingly flaccid central defending. Now, that audacious City have been through would be wiser for them to pull-up their game to match champions pedigree. However, if felt FA verdict on vilified Hazard been harsh and inefficient because video footage have proved he's absolved from an incident. Wandile Mtana (Uitenhage)
I stil have not woken up sins Sunday night, and please don't wake me up from that dream that Bafana are through to the quater finals.I can't believe we have qualified.
The Bafana game always leave a lot of questions but big up for their fighting spirit and team work performance. They qualified to the next round of the competition. Still the question remained about our defence and scoring. The fact remain though that i support the boys under any circumstances.
Terah Maqepula, eMgezwa, Lusikisiki
Watching Rafael Benitez crash and burn, I can't help but admire the tragic beauty of the way in which he orchestrates his own downfall, and at the same time appreciate his qualities as a man, with the way in which he fights against but ultimately accepts his fate, as the most unwanted manager in modern football. The crowd are singing "SACKED IN THE MORNING!" to Rafa. Wandile Mtana (Uitenhage)
struggling to get out of of group.we play as a team.win & loss as a team.but Khune, was just there all alone.keep it up boy.u say u will make us proud.u done that already.unlike ur brother in frond there.

Itumeleng Khune is the best 'keeper in the world & we won't see him in SA league next season. He's the reason for Bafana Bafana to be in the Afcon quarter finals. Chiefs must start (now) recruiting a quality replacement for him. DERRICK "Obama" KHUMALO, GP
Bafana make ours proud by progresing 2 quarterfinal itu khune stand tall shapa bafana shapa from sheshe aka song kwamhlanga
wow, what a game probable the best game of Afcon up to so far.it has everything on it to be called a clasic.but our captain he's lacking behind,he's not leading by example, however credit to khune & sangweni also to the rest (team),and good luck to the next game hope majoro will be fit since mphela he's firing blank..rise bafana rise.!

Mr Editor firstly i must say congratulations to our boys for going through to the last eight of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations.Their game against Morocco was't easy at all ,they showed a great fighting spirit ,coming back from behind twice it was great. But Mr Editor i'm very worried that when our team is not doing well and us some of the supporters raise that, some of the people are not happy they take that as if we don't like our team, that is not the case if our team is not doing well it must concern the supporters. That's why they need a tongue-lashing that shows we are proud of them.

CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER TO THE BOYS FOR A HARD FOUGHT DRAW AGAINST MOROCCO ON SUNDAY. CHANGES MADE BY GI AFTER THE 1ST GAME WERE LIKE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR. AGAINST STRONGER OPPOSITION WE’LL NEED EXTRA MUSCLE IN MIDFIELD, SO YEYE MIGHT BE A GOOD OPTION ALONG SIDE FURMAN AND MAHLANGU. I’M SATISFIED WITH THE PLAYERS WHO STARTED THE TWO PREVIOUS GAMES. PHALA MIGHT BE LET DOWN BY HIS FINAL TOUCH SOMETIMES BUT HE GIVES TEAMS A WORKOUT FOR 90 MINUTES, HIS INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL HAS BEEN QUITE SOMETHING. KHUMALO WORRIES ME, AND RANTIE IS GETTING GOOD EXPOSURE, THIS BODES WELL FOR THE TEAM GOING FORWARD. ALL THAT IS NEEDED NOW IS A GRADUAL PHASING OUT OF THE DEAD WOOD IN THE TEAM. I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST SHABBA AND KG, IN FACT I RATE THE FORMER HIGHLY BUT WE NEED TO TRY SOMEHTING DIFFERENT ON THE LEFT AND KG HAS JUST LET ME DOWN. THE TWO GOALS SCORED BY MAHLANGU AND NTSIMBI WERE SOMETHING TO MARVEL AT. I ALSO LIKE THE SPIRIT AND CHARACTER SHOWN BY THE BOYS, AND THAT IS TESTIMONY OF GI’S TEAMS. I FEEL WE COULD TAKE THE POSITIVES FROM THE GROUP STAGES AND USE THAT TO OVERCOME WHOEVER COMES OUR WAY, REMEMBER BOYS WE ARE WITH YOU ALL THE WAYYYYYY!!! GO BAFANA!! GOOO!!!
Congratulations to the boys for advancing to the next round when some people did not give us chance. A special thanks to everyone who went to the stadium to give support. Frankly, those who are always negative about the team are the ones who don't even go to the stadium. Vukani Masondo, eMfanefile.
The gap between so-called super powers and minnows in our African football is steady but surely become so small, look at Cabo Verde, the rookies of the Afcon are through to the quarterfinal.Big up to our beautiful game. Frank Gwala,Hammarsdale
I urge all soccer loving S.Africans to put on hold their panic buttons, it looks
like Khune will take us to the promised land.I am glad to notice that the
muti man has also put his goal curse on hold. Now the players can start
thinking about bonuses, glory and the names behind their shirts. The ultimate
goal is not to reach the final but to win it,reaching the final and lose is no
mean feat or achievement because the Class of 98 did that and it meant nothing.
My only advice to GI is ,let the players put the ball down and play it, if we are to
Win this tournament let us win it in style.Looks like the coach has seen his starting 11.
Spice it with Oupa Manyisa coach.
It is now SHOWTIME.
Fanie M Mabizela
With due respect to our captain Bongani, He is a good player but does not fit to be a captain nor deserves to be in the starting eleven. Bongani fails to win aerial balls, to clear the danger. Sangweni covers for him. Bongani is tall but can not take advantage of his height, he can not score from a corner kick. I was also impressed by May Mahlangu, the boy's confidence is building up. Furman is a gem, I must say that I have never seen Phala play like the way he does now. He can take on defenders with confidence. Our Khune is brilliant, he saved us on the night. My plea to the coach, please do not change the winning combination.

The impression I got of some of the Algerians supporters in their first game against Tunisia at Royal Bafokeng Stadium was that they are hooligans. Before their game started one moron threw himself onto the pitch and only one official went to him and talked and walked him out. At half time the same guy did it again because he was not dealt with properly and one security and one big fat guy were chasing after him and he was making a fool of them. Eventually he stopped for them and they tried to drag him and he was too strong for them. Another two of his countryman went onto the pitch to rescue him and they did, forcely so. Just when I thought I had seen enough another Algerian guy was making his way onto the stand carring a dog. How he got into the stadium with a dog I have no idea. Towards the end of the game the fight broke out amongst them not far from where I was sitted. I was left speechless. Lucky M Khunou, Meriting
South Africa lets rise above doubt, lets rally with our boys the journey starts now and I believe the boys can make it futher in tournament if they displayed the fighting spirit the showed agaisnt Morrocco..Bafana Barroccaa!
Bongani Prince Somo
If Benni McCarthy still wants to continue with his career at Pirates,he must simple keep quiet & wait for Dr Khoza to come to him instead of marketing himself to other clubs with the assistance of the media.
I think in order for Bafana to win their remaining matches we need guys like serero, shabba, yeye and may in the middle with parker and killer upfront.
If ever there was a time when Bafana Bafana needed our unreserved support and encouragement is now. Lets cheer our boys until the end of the tournament but my message to the boys is to stop making excuses and start winning games. Go to Durban and beat Angola and do South Africa proud.
We told Gordon Idesund that leaving Andile Jali out of his Afcon team was a big blunder and he told the world that he got his dream team. If one take a look at KG(Dikgacoi) you will realize that our midfield is battle lost, I mean the latter is not even offensive in attack yet GI continue to play him. The exclusion of J15 is really beyond my understanding.
Victor Mashongete, kaBungeni
Gordon, the combination of Yeye and KG has not been fruitious since the days of Pitso, it is just plain defensive and limit the creative in the engine room, hence our strikes could not get the necessary supply at the right time. If we can be more attack minded on our next two games, I do see us getting at least one or two goals, even our full backs, we need people who can counter and track back in time to defend.
The current full back do not gives us does options, this will help Parker to be in good scoring position when he gets the ball, unlike now where he must come deep.
I have told many fans that Bafana will go a long way in this tournament, regardless some other fans turning their backs against them,am a chiefs fan and happy that my players are dominating but know its about bafana now,GOOD LUCK GENTS!
All de south african must rally behind bafana, we are going to final watch dis place.
Sunday's match was probably the most spirited performance by a south african team in years, when do u ever see bafana come back from behind TWICE!!!..shows these new youngsters are hungry.
The formation Gordon Igesund used was very dangerous but Bafana Bafana won which is the important thing. When face the tougher opponents they will tear us apart. Mr coach do you have problem with Jali, Khuboni and Masenamela?
Ronny Mereotlhe from Dinokana
I think SA needs someone who will play as a defender so that we can play Sangweni as a striker. He is doing what strikers must do. Anyway good luck bafana bafana good luck.
Siyabulela Dzingwe e Bizana
Bafana Bafana,we are through to the quarterfinal lead us by your holy spirit into the semi finals.
As I prayed,I pray for everysingle player of Bafana Bafana to play with the confidents and the support of 1 another,Father God I belived that everthing is possible by consulting your name.I asked these thing under your name which is above all other names. Amen.
Isaac Tsenene @ Motherwell NU11.
Congratulations Gordon and his boys for making us proud. Wishing you all the best and make it all the way to the final. We are behind you boys.Durban e ya rocka.re a leboga bana ba papa.

There's nothing wrong to substitute or drop a captain when he can't do his job. You hardly see the captain speaking or encouraging the team. Dean Furman and Itu Khune are the only people communicating with players. Bongani Khumalo can do a very good job as a football analyst as he speaks the Queens language very well but as Captain and being in the starting line up its a big NO.
Khune is the only reason we are still in the tournament I'm saying this as a Buccaneer. I would like to see D Furman being the Captain and Bongani Khumalo being replaced by Thabo Nthete.
GI’s strategy for the game was to go for a draw. I see people are happy about that, but I’m not. The bafana coaching is to heavy 4 GI he must go to Swallows. We almost lost the game if it wasn't fo Sangweni who came on rescue. Bafana wont pass quarterfinals mark ma words.
From Zee Habe @CPTWN HARARE
This is the first tym Bafana Bafana bounce back like this, even thou they were not at their best but they played very well and to make things even more exciting is the fact that a bhakaniya is a shining star….Shine Bafana Bafana shine we are so proud of you..from Thandi zitha egutjwa
I am very concerned about the poor and boring football displayed by teams in the Afcon. Even the so-called African giants hasn't impressed me at all, especially Ghana, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire and Algeria. I don't know if it’s because most of the players are exhausted because of a hectic calendar year with their respective teams. So far I haven't seen any player whom I can safely say he would be a contender for a player of the tournament, goal of the tournament, top goal scorer, keeper of the tournament or an African team of the year. If I were to rate this year's showpiece I'd give it 5 out of 10.
Bafana’s win against Angola made us proud. Let's just hope SAFA management didn’t fix the game. 4-4-2 formation its much better than 4-5-1 ,

Yaya Toure has proven more than once that he's currently the best African footballer. The guy carries Man City to success on his shoulders. City are currently struggling to thrash minnow teams in the EPL simply because they miss him. The 2 goals he scored in the Afcon really proves that he's the King of African football. Yaya is the engine of both Cote d'Ivoire and City. With him they are superior but without him they are ordinary.
What a match against Morocco, convincing performance from everyone except Khumalo, Mphela and the ever disappointing Phala. Guys pull out your inside, play for our country knowing that you are watched accross the country by very passionate and loyal people. Some of them very old, risking their health to come and watch you playing with only your feet. Add your mind to your play, everything will come into play. All South African saw how you played days before the squad was trimmed to 23. You were too committed and your work rate was amazing. We were even convinced that now Bafana Bafana has a captain and leader, skillful and fearless right wing and a worldclass goal porcher but now everything just went off. What is happening. Pssssss, just like that. No communication with Sangweni though you are wearing an armbelt. If it wasn't about the brilliance of Khune, Morocco could have buried us. Phala, TEAM STANDS FOR: Together each achieve more. You cannot do everything by yourself. Running aimlessly, dribbling unnecesarily and lossing the ball so cheaply though you don't want to trace back and defend. Simply share the yellow round thing with someone wearing the same colour with you. Football made easy. Yeah, Ask Teko Modise. Or maybe GI's game plan? The less said about Mphela the better. The only time i saw him is when he was substituted. He gave GI a very negative attitude. He didnt even shake a hand. Killer, admit it. Your performance against Morocco was not near for someone playing for a country and money. You were nowhere near the game. It was a dismal performance ever. It is now time that we, South Africans, put the blame where is due. To Gordon and his troop, a job well done. We are proud indeed and do Believe in the Dream Team. Sometimes our very big problem is taking a decision. Know that even if we don't make it to stadiums, we will passionately cheer from our chairs everytime you score and have that ugly yet disappointed face everytime you concede very stupid goals like we did against Morocco. Only because someone didn't think better enough. Not taking anything away from Morocco but we were playing with 8 players. It is just that Morocco realised very late. No one wants to play Bafana Bafana but our players, especially the captain, have never up to now realised that all 15 coaches lack the cure to the 12th in the field of play. Bafana Bafana players need to acknowledge the support the team gets. We have passionate supporters in South Africa, the die-hards. The 2013 AFCON Bafana Bafana Slogan: "No ear, Bench." That's all the coach can do. Coach, apart from Bongani Khumalo you have got FOUR CAPABLE CAPTAINS. Khune, Sangweni though language might be a problem, Nthete and Furman. Trust them, they will deliver good results for you and the country as a whole. Players don't realise that even coaches play from the touchline. Coaches are part of the game. When they see you disappointed, their very narrow mind tells them that you are worrying about your job and your salary, not realising that you were playing with them every minute of a game. They only see you as a coach and not as a player. In their mind you are there because you are paid. They think they need your word and not your part as a player. Which is a bad angle view of the game. One last thing Bafana Bafana is lacking, positive decision-making. When, where, why and how to pass the ball, accelerate, stop and defend. As players, they need to check their performance and help the coach to play better from the touchline.
I think that MUTHI man is working. SAFA must just give the MUTHI man R2M if we win this CUP!!. Since he said he will help us we see results and not just results wonders i know Sangweni can score but that goal of yesterday i used to see it on LALIGA where Chanpions are FOUND!!
Matlala Elvis, Standerton
Even if Sangweni don’t have a good Afcon, he had scored more than K Mphela.3 games without Mphela scorering.
Now the teams are starting to show why they are here in Mzansi. The goals are coming thick and fast and things are starting to get interesting. I think Ivory Coast will be favourites to win this cup, Samson N Khuphani, Tshiawelo
As much as I don't condone violence, it might be an advantage to Downs. The incident between Booth and Billiat at Ajax might ease the road for the boy to join our team. I would like to have the young man at Downs now rather than next season. That can give Downs the edge to challenge for the league title.
Terah Maqepula, Lusikisiki
I wish Bafana a very good game against Mali, we are always behind them in & out. Bafana please go & make me proud guys we always wish to be in African book history.
