Soccer-Laduma Edition 800

04 December 2012

CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT NEESKENS IS STILL DOING @ SUNDOWNS, I MEAN, ITS OBVIOUS THAT PLAYERS NO LONGER BELIEVE IN HIM. HE LOST THE T.K.O CUP FINAL AGAINST CELTICS BECAUSE HE WANTED TO EXPERIMENT WITH YOUNGSTERS INSTEAD OF TRIED AND TESTED PLAYERS.AS FOR MOTSEPE, THERE'S NOTHING TO HOLD ON TO IN NEESKENS, HE IS NOW REDUNDANT.  FROM SIMBONGILE C. NKQWILI, VOORBERG PRISON.

our players are recieving the yelow cards unnecessarely, the reffree's decision is final, reffree can't not change his dicision because the player think ortherwise.clubs must punish this kind of players because they are costing they teams, clubs must also take their players to anger management,it will benefit both of them, just buy them books,,simple as that..

Moroka Swallows coach let down the good job done by Gordon Mr Leon Prince act soon if team will be in danger zone this time no one can rescue the birds

When the season is over sundowns should retain the coach and all the players this will help both parties in continuation of consistency by signing new players the coach will be more confused like never before.Kopano Chabaemang from Vanwyksvlei

It will be a long time before we can dream about winning the AFCON. I know it is too early to panic but looking at what Igesund is doing it seems like we won’t go far. How can he use two defensive midfielders while we have Yeye on the bench?
Aaron

With only a few days left before the start of the Afcon, Nelspruit as one of the host cities, is not doing enough to promote the tournament. We are not seeing enough posters on those advertising poles like we did during the 2010 World Cup.
Edward Themba

Saying kaizer chiefs management run their team like a spaza shop will be an insult to spaza shop owners,  because spaza shop are more professional runned compared to Kaizer chiefs, I can't believe after 18 years of democracy the team is denying its players freedom of speech  by not allowing them to have interview with soccer laduma. This is also an insults and disrespect to their supporters who spent their hard earned money to support the team, because publications like soccer laduma is a platform for players and supporters to interact,  if chiefs continue to forbid their players from talking to soccer laduma I suggest their supporters boycott their games and let the motaungs , their relatives , friends , girlfriends and pets fill the stadium.
Rito Hlungwna, Xitlhelani

This derby has everyone talking but I'm afraid it might not live up to expectation. Both teams are in top form prior to the game. Both teams are fighting for the top spot. I just hope the players treat us to a goal-feast. Let’s hope the referees don't spoil it. Good luck to my team Kaizer Chiefs
Ngoako Phooko, Ngwanallela
I am begining to wonder what Teko Modise has done to make his ancestors turn their backs on him. He is a great player , but all he needs is a silverware. This guy needs a serious cleansing. Xolani Masina, Kameelrivier

Mmh,i feel so sori fr general modise,he was so determin to lift @least 1 trophy to his prof career,to all da sundowns supporters,i fl ur pain, there's alwys nx tym guys, aykophela kobom, ningazbulali sikho sonke, may ur soul find peace......frm gqabs bwrth

At first I didnt want to entertain the Teko curse theories. Evidently enough he tried all that he could to win silverware with Sundowns and his previous employers(SSU and Pirates) but with the dark cloud hanging over his head whoever he plays for always suffers from his curse. It's really sad for such a talent not to have anything to show once he retires from football apart from individual awards. Teko is really cursed!
Maphale Motsamai

I saw it coming that NFD material team won't beat Siwelele at the TKO because their minds are no longer in the PSL.Even if the game played 5 hours they could not score. This team is like a spaza shop where kids stole steal stock daily,is better for Motsepe to sell it to people who are interested and had knowledge in soccer.Because the team is going down the drain nothing else.Anyway bravo coaches, technical team, players and management who knows what are they doing Shapa Siwelele Shapaaaaaa!!!!!.Morris Sibuyi Majeje3

since you take over mamelodi sundowns ,the team didnt achieve any silver medal. How many coaches did you fired. It  can  be more than 9.but the technical staff is till the same. Mr motsepe this is the time to change the technical staff and some of the players who are not serious in the field of play,we love sundowns but your players and technical staff, they dont care  about sundowns, they bites the hand that give them foods.some of sundowns player are there for money not for the team.mr motsepe bring secreamer tshabalala, natatsha and peter kotrolis. please mr motsepe fire the lazy players and technical staff, dont   give them bonuses  they are useless manicks mpunwana  from belabela

I wish sundowns players, technical team can now understand that their playing is not only affecting their supporters only,it affect us also the soccer loving people, cause now the level of soccer competition in s.a is really down all thanks to sundowns poor performance
Tsetlhabi

I am a Kaizer Chiefs fan i would like to give a hand of applause to the team that were victorious on saterday night (Siwelele sa Masele) eventhough i didn't watch the game. To the yellow nation le dirile ja ka mehla, despite what i heard that u were robbed by the refereé just go and watch soccer zone without fear or favour.I use to say Money can't buy success and u can be as rich as Sundowns but happiness is the most important thing.
Shapa siwelele sa masele  shapaaaa!

Another day another funeral for the Tshwane showmen-Thanks to the talsman of Joel 'Magoals' Mogorosi and the impervious crew of soon to be promoted from Captain to Admiral -Thabo Ntethe.Hard work pays dividends.I salute the Siwelele legion!

I am dissapointed after hearing the news that coach Johan Neeskens has been sacked. I still believe that Neeskens was the best coach we ever had at sundowns and the coach was never the problem at Downs but it remains to be seen wether young players will still get gametime under the new mentor.Welcome to the brazillian family mr jingles.
Sipho motubatse,Acornhoek.

I must take this opportunity to congratulate Siwelele Samasele for winning the cup,it was long overdue to reward their loyal supporters, really working together as a team pays off at the end of the day,for TEKO MODISE askies bra you rather consult a Sangoma to ask why this happening to you where ever you go you cause hunger, thank again for making sure Mr Neeskens its his time to hit the road he was clueless lacking ideas his days were longtime numbered**PHINDILE JONGA@KwaLanga,eKapa

Thank u very much Siwelele 4 winning TKO 4 ur supporters. U started by Chippa FC, then Pielerete FC, then our noisy neighbours FS Stars FC & in de final Sunjewa aka Bafana ba stress FC. Thank u once again ka mahetla.

Dear Mr De Sa.Coach,we as Bucs fans-we are happy with the way the team is playing because we are getting some good results. But Sir do you know that the original Pirates"back four is/Right back-Happy Jele/Left back-Thabo Matlaba/Center backs-Lucky Legwati and Siyabonga Sangweni.Coach do you think Phungwayo and this Gcaba guy are really Pirates material?Coach are you aware we are playing Chiefs who have got some good wingers?Coach at Pirates we don"t allow a coach to lose his first Derby match, that is unacceptable.Sir i am not rude it"s just that i want you to enjoy your stay at the Bucs ship. And lastly, what is this Masuku guy and Masalesa doing at Pirates?Ok Sir thanks.Your Sincerely-Teenage Nkabuli. eDiepsloot ext 5

It was only a matter of when will Motsepe pull the plug on Neeksen, the outburst by ex Downs coach during interview was a clear sign he was on his way out.now that Pitso is in will have and see.sunflower.

Thanks to Patrice Motsepe for firing that clueless coach. The man brought nothing but shame to Sundowns. A club of Sundowns' stature cannot be languishing at the bottom of the table and failing to win at least a trophy. He clearly brought Sundowns into disrepute, and Motsepe should have done that a long time ago. It will take a miracle for Sundowns to win the league. Hopefully, they will recover in time to stage a late comeback to challenge Chiefs and Pirates for the league honours, although I doubt it very much. Good bye, Mr Neeskens, and thanks for nothing.
 Makopane Marodi

This is a long overdue decison by the president. If he had fired the clueless coach long ago we would have won the Telkom knockout, been up there in the first place within the PSL and we would have a consistent starting eleven. The only thing left is for Makhanya and Trott to do what is best for the team and stop dictating matters by signing every Tom,Dick and Henry.Mamelodi Sundowns is the big brand so this thing of signing everyone who can kick soccer must come to an end now.Pitso we welcome you to Chloorkop and hope you will bring trophies to the cabinet and make Mr Motsepe's dream of conquering Africa a realistic one.I hope you will get rid of all those players who do not share Mamelodi Sundowns's values and objectives. As a former Down's player you know better. From Sibusiso Zulu,KwaMememe.

Congratulations to Bloemfontein Celtic for being crowned the TKO Champions, however the consistent 'human errors' of refrees and their asisstants continue to decide games unfairly. It is high time the tv refree is included in soccer for goal line, offside, red card and penalty calls if soccer is a fair sport as we are made to believe by FIFA.Lastly refrees and assistants must be disciplined as their mistakes cost fans, players, coaches, teams and the sport a lot as far as the sport's good reputation is concerned.
From Africa Chauke eka Xikundu.

Both Maritzburg and Downs are in unfamiliar territories and it looks like this will be the season of upsets. Platinum Stars and Maritzburg seems to be ready to spoil the party but do they have the depth to challenge two serious title contenders in Chiefs and Bucs? Supersport and Downs, two perennial title contenders, are already out of contention and this makes the game between Soweto rivals more interesting. It won't be only pride at stake but also the points. I forsee only a two horse race to the title this season. Let the games continue!
Amos Tshukudu, Ga Maria

boycott matches to get the board to wake up! The current team is a defensive wreck, one class player - Vermaelen and how Mertesacker with his lack of pace got to be bought I don't know. The two apprentice full backs - Gibbs and Jenkinson still learning . Its a poor back four, and the responsibilities are heavy . Arteta in his declining years is not a good defender, yet he is there to protect back four. Szczesny is a very good goalie, but he must feel stretched thru the brittleness of the back four. Arsenal are years behind the fab four of Adams, Bould, Dixon, Winterburn and others. Second problem is Wenger himself is like King Canute, and his budget ideas mean he has to sell great players replace them with good but unconstructive players like Giroud. Only Cazorla is capable and his form has dipped. Wilshire may get back to his best, but he is a small player in stature. Wenger has to go, his judgment is poor. Results speak for themselves. Fans need to boycott matches to get the board to wake up. However, in other words, Wenger is one of them who think top 4 finish is a trophy. And for the past 7 years they've been setting the same target whilst telling Gooners fans "we are aiming for the title"...and some of you think Wenger is on a profit sharing bonus pay package, all the evidences so far prove that way. WENGER OUT!!! Wandile Mtana (Uitenhage)

Sundowns' fans are still crying a foul about Celtics' goal which shattered their dream of collecting some silverware.Did the ball really cross the line? Surely this incident will bring back the goal line technology debate.
From: Mandisi Zulu,Tehuis,Umlazi

After the dissapointing loss to Celtics on Saturday the envitable had to happen. With the sinking ship going deeper & deeper, Neeskens had to leave as the man at the helm of the Team!

i wish as if patrice mutsepe cn go to khoza  2get  sum advice abt  soccer.  sundown wl never win anything until motsepe fire moloto and de frnd .hw could a team lyk sundown loose 2final  lyk dat ?if pitso wnt a job at sundown he must hire a security fsrt bcs he wl nver last de.only neil tovey cn do better .from godfrey tshisikhawe @aces
It is very saddening to see one of the big and successful run team in South Africa, Sundowns having to go through the kind of ill-luck spell it currently find itself in. The situation seems to decline from historical good moments of sublime characterized by well-preserved souvenirs into ridicule. Gone are those days of enticing good football of a superb tailored play of the once famous shoe-shine-and-piano which defines Sundowns culture and play. Week in week out, almost all media circles are amassed by intriguing reports of the unhappiness of supporters, fans and everyone that dare give a damn about the standard of football in the country.
It is not surprising to see how the team has fared lately, placed second bottom of the Premier League Log standing in the domestic league. This is indeed the most difficult moment the team has ever found itself in and probably all ex-legends spirits are by now restless wherever they are. All soccer loving people in the country are asking themselves repeated question; what may have gone wrong at Chloorkop? Many PSL Teams usually complain about lack of resources, but with Sundowns that is by far nowhere near a reason to worry about. An issue of scarcity of resources is foreign to Sundowns and never existed in their vocabulary since Mr. Patrice Motsepe took over control and ownership of the team. Sundowns is one of the very few fortunate teams in the country with lots of resources and support. Although some pundits would argue that money alone can never buy success, in the case of Sundowns it should have at least brought a lot of positive spin-offs. Now a question that everyone could be asking is: where could have things gone wrong?
I write this piece as a soccer loving person who has great interest in the growing and development of soccer in the country and beyond. My favourite team is Chiefs. The recent sacking of the coach Johan Neeskens and replacing him by Pitso Mosimane is on its own shying away from addressing real challenges the team is faced with. My convictions remains strong that problems or challenges at Sundowns are not only limited to the coach or management but to the entire collective. Any move to remedy the situations, should take a form of a holistic approach and not narrow approach which could re-invent the problems.
Of course yes, coaching is but one element of a bigger problem at Sundowns. Problems at Sundowns are mainly caused by big headed and pompous players especially those that came to Sundowns with an overrated and useless stardom or fame name tag on their heads.  These bunches of players have personality conflict crises and they are also fighting for benefits at Sundowns amongst themselves. This problem of peer group influence and jealousy over one by another are further exacerbated by huge sums of pay money and salary gaps existing amongst players. Challenges at Sundowns and its current form have a serious negative impact on the selection and composition of a national team Bafana Bafana. It is a reason why as football followers, we are no longer indulging ourselves to the collective enticing shoeshine and piano football Sundowns was once renown of in the heydays.
It is time now that President Patrice Motsepe should take time to know what exactly needs to happen to revive the team. This reminds me of one of the best classics song by Percy Sledge, “Take time to know her”. It appears to me that for the past few seasons, the President didn’t commit too much time in building a strong base on the culture and values of Sundowns as inherited but rather keeping main focus in the acquisition of overrated players whose prize tags have been inflated by either media or agents. This was done purposely knowingly that the President purse is never empty but loaded.
Blame should also go to administrators of Sundowns especially Team Management and players scouts who I believe they have something to do with acquisitioning of these overrated players. All this is being done behind the back of a committed and truthful–honest President Motsepe. Looking closely in this matter, one can’t rule out the possibility of certain players paying bribes to continue earning their fat salaries in the team and to renew their contracts. The Platinum Stars saga with ex-coach Owen Da Gama should have at least served as an eye opener to Sundowns. There are certain players who at all cost don’t deserve to be in Sundowns stablemate.
Going forward and after all the blunders made, I think it has been a biggest mistake Mr. Motsepe has made to fire Johan Neeskens and appoint Pitso Mosimane. How do you fix a little problem with a big problem? Not much difference can be drawn between the two coaches especially when coming to short temperament and coach-players interpersonal relations the two have. According to me, the two coaches have such weaknesses in common. Neeskens couldn’t made it to have a reliable starting best eleven and he will always chop and change the team- a recipe for his downfall as players wanted to be trusted by coach of the day. I don’t think Pitso is going to utilize the so called “old players” in the team and by doing so this may further fuelled tension in the team.
Pitso also has a down-size weakness which is to shift the goalposts when things are not falling into place. He is too temperamental and cannot cope well in situations wherein he is coming in as a messiah or life saver to the team. For now Sundowns is in dire need of a real strategist, motivator and high self-esteemed disciplinarian coach who will be able to turn tables around in a shortest space of time. These are qualities which I think Pitso lacks. Pitso likes media jamboreeing and always finding blames than giving out desired results and solutions to challenges.
It will be important for Sundowns to overhaul completely its current squad and management. Each time the team travels to an away games, I often mistaken the composition of the team’s management as another opposite team. There are so many officials who by my analysis are just idling with the team and not adding value. Well, one may appreciate the fact that the team is trying to create jobs opportunities by retaining almost all ex-players and roping them in the running of the team. What a waste of time time and resources. Too much cooks can spoil the broth. Some of the challenges may be exacerbated by some of these ex-players who have been kept around as demi-gods. Behind the scenes, some of these ex-players connive with players to rebel against the non-favourable coach of the day. Neeskens could be the latest victims of this scam.
When coming to players, sometimes it is pointless to have galaxy of super stars which don’t add any value to the team. Sundowns may have suffered the same fate out of this. Positive results at Sundowns will always be made attainable by offloading all overrated stars and dishonest managers in the team. It will only take a combination of a determined experienced coach, few seasoned players and emerging hard working players to restore order at Sundowns than the current squad which largely comprises of overly rated stars. You need committed, hardworking, sober and cool headed players who will ply their trade for the team very honestly and not only for their personal fame, but for the success of the brand/team they are doing business for. Many current players at Sundowns don’t have this important and rare quality. They put their fame first (attest to by personalized gory hairstyles and over décor of body tattoos).
May the President of Sundowns, Mr. Motsepe mop the rot and mediocrity that have come to characterize Sundowns lately and help rebuilding the once famous Brazillian brand of the famous shoeshine and piano system. The archives of South African soccer history are amassed by the great achievements amongst other things that Sundowns have achieved. I don’t think Mr. Motsepe would want to rewrite Sundowns’ nascent history or to see the team competing in the NFD next season. (Word count=1374)
 Humphrey Lastborn Mutangwa Polokwane

Good bye Neeskens and thanks for nothing, this is what Downs could have done before, they couldn’t have found themselves in a position where they are today. Neeskeens cursed himself by ruthlessly beating school kids from Northern Cape Power lines 24-0. This is where his downfall came from for being ruthless to some upcoming young boys who had aspirations to play football at the highest level.  Mr Mosimane should also start using young players that the team developed because readymade players are the one costing Downs a lot because of their attitude and thinking that they know more in football.
Sabata Kambule

Once again match officials get it wrong I am a pirates fan but I feel really bad about what happened to sundowns in TKO final, clearly that was not a goal and the lines man just turned a blind eye, just like his colleague did with the Penalty shoot our between Celtics and Pirates…When fans behave badly at stadiums teams are fined, when players misbehave they get disciplined,What happens to match officials when they commit such mistakes? IN A CUP GAME NOG AL

This season is for the smaller teams to shine.First on the list was Moroka Swallows and now Bloemfontein Celtic have been rewarded.Things are heating up in this year's title race between the big guns of S.A. football.

The lack of import of RSA players to Europe will hurt Bafana on the global soccer. Its an obvious fact that Europe is home of soccer.Unfortunately the value of our players is overpriced, because the players who became hot properties are unable to be consistent the following seasons locally, which may show that it may be a risk to pay a huge money for an unknown quantity. The trend also set by former players from the PSL send overseas and failed, like Mbesuma,Mabizela etc constitute to a lack of confidence by the scouts.Timing of AFCON into consideration,we are not a good destination for scouts.Im crying foul for this players Modise(before the WC) ,Segolela(Standard liege)and Jali(Bundesliga),the Iron Duke could have released them when they were needed, because the opportunity may not come again as it happened with Teko.We cant expect European teams to pay the same money as they pay for South American players,we are definitely not on the same level.Though I am a pirates fan,I was happy when Rantie was joining Swedish team because I believed he was a good player who can develop further like Pienaar and Benny to help bafana in future. And I may be happy too,if Jali leaves as he still good because in my opinion the guy has massive talent, bucs has always been and will always exist, they'll find someone.Im proud of our younger players overseas and I wish them well, the likes of Rantie,Serero,Ntlhe,Mokotjo and my plea to them is please dont come back now,is tough, but be strong guys.I like the PSL big time, but we are part of the world,we must compete.JUSt imagine if we have players in teams like Tottenham,Malaga,Napoli, jst average European teams.
Mashishi Maurice,gaMatlala.

Let me take this moment and welcome Pitso Mosimane as a new Sundowns coach, his presence in local soccer will not only help Sundowns but the entire Psl. Pitso has a vast experience in local soccer and his experience with the national team will also play a vital role. He might have not won many silverwares while still the coach of Supersport United but during his time Supersport played one of the best brand of football. It also feels good when most of the teams in the Psl are coached by local coaches as it can also help in Bafana Bafana. Welcome Mr Mosimane to the Psl, it will not always be easy but we wish you all of the best with your new job. Lettuce Mathebula. Mtititi Plange

Sundowns should just soldier on, the day they get it right, the world will suffer fits, I guess!

the Soweto derby is the biggest derby i south Africa if not in Africa,i cant wait for this weekend to see the two giants of south Africa football battling it out at the fnb stadium, please Mr coach just make sure that whatever you do just dont lose the derby because we may never forgive you if you do that and to the boys go and show the sea robbers what we are made of n gives us the bragging rights....
tshepo shayi matlala,,mohlalaotwane

Bloemfontein Celtic were very lucky in this year's Telkom Knockout final. They were first helped with enough time to equalise against Pirates although added on time was over. That ball clearly didn't cross the goal line.
Thulang Mariti

I know how critical we can at times. However, l plead with every football fanatic out there to refrain from uttering degrading remarks to the entire Sundowns family. Especially not to someone like Teko. They tried their utmost best. Unfortunately it wasn't to be.
MJ Yani, Motherwell, PE

all  this teko modise thing of being cursed is rubbish,if a team does not perform and show determination of not winning then do we have to blame one player, sundowns are going through a rough patch and everyone can see that so lets stop blaming individual players or curses when the team isn't winning please this has to come to an end football loving fans...tshepo shayi matlala,,mohlalaotwane

Celtics supporters are the most passionate team as compared to any other teams supporters, the siwelele fans rally behind their team regardless of its performance and you will never see them threatening the coach or throwing things on the pitch while the game is still on and for that i give you my admost respect and hope you continue rallying behind your team just like you have been doing all this time...tshepo shayi matlala,,mohlalaotwane

to have a team with quality players like sundowns; and still fail to deliver then that clearly shows that the coach was either clueless or the players we not seriously committed to play ans die with their boots on for the sundowns jersey,so i hope and wish pitso mosimane all the best of luck in trying to turn the sundowns fortunes around cos that is not going to be an easy work to do...tshepo shayi matlala,,mohlalaotwane
