'Super Mario Is Milan's Messi'
05 February 2013
AC Milan are still enjoying the afterglow of Mario Balotelli’s scoring debut last weekend.
The enigmatic striker made a relieved return to Italy from Manchester City, and was elated to join the club he supported as a boy.
Milan had fallen on hard times of late, especially up front, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to PSG at the beginning of the season in particular left them emasculated.
But Milan’s vice-president, Adriano Galliani, spoke for the Rossoneri faithful when he admitted to a sense of excitement at Balotelli’s arrival.
Galliani even went as far as to label the hit-man Milan’s Messi.
"His signing gives the perception that we have returned as a great Milan," Galliani said.
"This Milan, in attack, is similar to Barcelona.
“We don't have Messi but we have Super Mario Balotelli."
Italy coach Cesare Prandelli is also apparently purring after Super Mario joined Milan, to forge a strike partnership with Stephen El Shaarawy.
In 22-year-old Balotelli and 20-year-old Shaaraway, not only do Milan have two of the most eccentrically hair- styled footballers in Europe, but they also have a strike force that could represent Italy for years to come.
The Azzurri play Holland in a friendly on Wednesday night, giving Prandelli the chance to test the new Milan strike duo, in what promises to be an eye-catching front line for club and country.

“We don't have Messi but we have Super Mario Balotelli." ========================= This is clearly NOT a comparison to messi, that "but" indicates a change in idea with regards to the words/notion prior to "but." Sadly our bantu-education-graduate bloggers along with whoever posted this trend is not equipped well enough to understand english.

there is a simple answer why Messi is the benchmark. Make it worse, >90% of teams in the world admire Barca style of football. Obvious answer, check Spain.
