Ref Abuse Lands Valdes In Hot Water

03 March 2013

Valdes

Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes is looking at a lengthy ban for verbally abusing referee Miguel Angel Perez Lasa in Saturday's El Clasico.

Valdes was incensed by the official's decision not to award a late penalty in their 2-1 loss to Real Madrid.

Valdes had to be restrained by a member of the club's staff after being shown a red card moments after having been shown a yellow following the final whistle.

Referee Perez Lasa details in his match report how the Barca keeper kept on repeating: "You have no shame."

"Once the game was over and while were still on the field of play, I booked Barcelona player, No. 1, Victor Valdes Arribas, for squaring up to me with his arms aloft and his voice shouting, recriminating one of my decisions. I then sent off the same player for shouting repeatly in my face, from just a few centimetres: 'You (the officials) s**t yourselves, you have no shame,” read the report.

"After he was sent off, the same player persisted with his attitude and kept on saying, in the same tone: 'You have no shame.' He had to be restrained by his team-mates and a delegate from his club. Once we were in the tunnel, the same player persisted with his attitude and repeated the same thing as he had before, still shouting: 'You have no shame, you have no shame.'"

you know I have just watched the repeat of the el classico again. .. and I have to say that, we all know that it has its ups and downs... but I for one wish to see the football that Barca used to play... it has been greatly influenced by the nature in which other teams approach a game against Barca... with that much aggression and anger towards them who wouldn't react.. I mean anyone level headed would see the amount of unfortunate and unfair decisions that where made against Barca... I just wish that people can stop being blinded by hatred/favoritism and notice that today soccer for most clubs is about winning at all cost...not about entertainment, fun, sportsmanship, fair play etc anymore...

you know these hypocrites that say that Barcelona FC players are unsportsmanlike are stupid and they(Madrid fans) like blowing air through their arses. ... I mean Barca has always displayed good sportsmanship... and if you agree with me on this point you will agree again on the fact that the only reason why they play as they do today is because of your pathetic ignorance of the fact that other teams where very hostile and very aggressive when they played Barca...and trust me men can only be pushed around d that much... further than thAt, you mean war...

So,you say Unicef did help Barca?I am not quite sure what are you trying to say.are you trying to say Refs did help Barca? Is that what you're saying?well, after a bit of internet surfing I've discovered that,in the 2011/12 season,RM's opponents were given 14 red cards(Barca's opponents;8 red cards),& RM was awarded 13 penalties(1 against),& Barca 11 penalties(4 against).so,it seems RM were awarded most of their penalties & half of the reds against opponents during the games when they desperately needed them.In other words, they were high quality penalties & Red cards.the fact that RM conceded less penalties during the whole season is pretty amazing, considering its thuggery.
