Mou: Is Pep Avoiding Me?
28 January 2013
Jose Mourinho thinks there is a chance Pep Guardiola joined Bayern Munich partially to avoid another clash between the two managers.
Mou and Pep had a standoffish relationship when they were Real Madrid and Barcelona managers respectively.
It is widely expected that The Special One will quit Los Blancos for a return to the English Premier League next season.
And Guardiola had been tipped to take the manager’s job at Chelsea after Roberto Di Matteo was sacked.
But instead, the in-demand Catalan football hipster opted for Bavaria instead, meaning that there will be no blockbuster Premier League clash between himself and Mourinho anytime soon.
As a result, Mourinho has questioned if Guardiola did not purposefully avoid him, playing on the theme some Real fans enjoy: that Mou chased a crestfallen Pep from La Liga, after Real usurped Barca’s crown last season.
"Has he deliberately chosen a league I am not involved in? I don't know," Mourinho said of Pep’s decision to join Bayern on Rai TV.
"It is his choice. What is certain is that I will not manage in Germany. I make no comments, it is all the same to me."
Meanwhile, Mou- who is already on a slippery slope at the Bernabeu- has admitted that he may not be able to win his third Champions League trophy while he is Real manager.
With Los Blancos already out of the La Liga race, the idea of winning their 10th Champions League crown- La Decima- is what is keeping them going this season.
But while The Special One is adamant that he will win the Champions League again, he accepts it will be tough to do so with Real Madrid.
It is a potentially defeatist attitude that may not sit well with Real’s fans, their pride already dented by the 15 points they currently trail Barca in the league by.
"I shall win the cup again, I don't know whether with Real Madrid this year, as everything is very even, but my third Champions League will come," he said.
"What I can't say is that I shall get it this season, but in the 15 or 20 years I have remaining as a manager, I shall get it."

This man thinks everything evolves around him. How can he even think of such thing (Pep avoiding him)? Pep is the best manager and Bayern is very ambitious. They shall meet in the UEFA champions league. And I certainly hope Munich shall oust Mou in any team of his choice.

Mou and Pep are similar in that they both go for teams with lots of cash and they are able to sign some expensive signings. Unlike them, Fergie actually took a relegation threatened team and made them into world beaters. Fergie also managed to stop the Rangers-Celtic monopoly in what was arguably one of the best leagues at the time.
