Malaga Smell Barca Blood

Malaga are smelling Blaugrana blood ahead of their Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg showdown with Barcelona on Thursday night.
Barcelona are in their worst slump of the season: a two-game blip which has seen them draw with Malaga in the first leg of their Copa tie, and then lose their first game of the La Liga campaign, against Real Sociedad last weekend.
As a result, Malaga- themselves not in the greatest of form- are more confident than they ordinarily might be of dealing a killer blow to Barca this week.
On top of their first league defeat, Barca are also dealing with the shock news that goalkeeper Victor Valdes wants out, as well as rumours that unhappy striker David Villa has requested a January transfer, to seek first-team action elsewhere.
All of those factors have convinced Malaga defender Martin Demichelis and his team-mates that Barca are there for the taking.
"This past weekend we saw that Barcelona are not unbeatable and that it's even possible to come back and win from 2-0 down against them," Demichelis said.
"We have proved that we can cope with difficult situations or tough games.
"They may be angry and fired up and that means it could be harder to play them.
"Hopefully some seeds of doubt have been sown but they are a team used to going out and winning every two or three days."
Barca are the defending Copa del Rey champions, and so despite the trouble that has recently beset them, there is no way they will relinquish their grip on the trophy easily.
