Espanyol 5-1 Rayo Vallecano
The hosts led by four goals before the half-time break at Estadi Cornella-El Prat, courtesy of two goals apiece from Kalu Uche and Philippe Coutinho. Former Espanyol player Raul tamudo then pulled one back for the visitors in the second half but Uche grabbed his third and the team’s fifth 67 minutes in.
Atletico Madrid 2-0 Granada.
Miranda and Radamel Falcao struck for the hosts in the 38th minute and stoppage time respectively as they built on their midweek Eurpoa league success. Henrique was sent off for the visitors with seven minutes remaining.
Valencia 2-2 Mallorca
Valencia gave up a two goal lead to end up sharing the spoils with Mallorca. First-half strikes from Alberto Costa and Aritz Aduriz had the hosts leading going into the break at Estadio Mestalla.However Emilio Nsue and Victor Casadesus both netted to bring Mallorca back on level terms in the second half.
Osasuna 2-1 Athletic Bilbao
The hosts leapfrogged their opponents thanks to two first half goals. The scoring was opened as Osasuna profited from an own goal before Raul Garcia struck on the half hour mark. Bilbao were only able to pull one back through Fernando Llorente.
