Don't Poach Our Players Pep!

15 January 2013

Barcelona have warned their former manager, Pep Guardiola, not to consider the Camp Nou a shopping depot when he returns to football.

The football world is waiting to see where Pep next takes residence and attempts to mould a new team in his polished image.

It will surely be tempting for the Catalan schemer to lure some of his former charges to wherever his next assignment may be, having worked with them to great effect already.

But Barca president Sandro Rosell says he hopes Guardiola does not try to lure any of the club’s current crop of first-teamers or youngsters away.

"For all Barca fans it will be tough to see Pep coaching another team but we will get used to it," Rosell told Spanish radio station RAC1.

"I hope he focuses his attentions on other players, and not ours, when it comes to building his new project."

Rosell added that Barca have already rebuffed moves by Manchester City to sign a host of their players, indicating that even Guardiola would come short if he tried his hand.

"I have confidence in our players and I don't see any of them wanting leave," Rosell said.

"There have already been offensives from City at all levels of the structures of our club but nobody wants to leave. They have tried to fish here but no one was biting."

Meanwhile, one of the clubs Pep could ostensibly be signing players for in the near future is Bayern Munich.

The Spaniard was reportedly seen in Bavaria recently. And with Bayern negotiating their current manager, Jupp Heynckes’, future at the club, Guardiola has been linked to the post.

But Bayern refuse to engage in speculation regarding the possibility of Pep’s appointment.

"Unfortunately we will not be commenting on these rumours," a club official told Reuters.

#thinking# he should coach Norwich city or Stoke city, why? Dez been so mch debate dt Pep only comes 2da party when food is well cooked & prepared 4him,ngalokho he is a good coach, not da best coach,he cannot groom,dt why when things get taf he runs away,he don't have option B!!! Hehehe some of honourable SL bloggers even said Pep discovered Tiki Teka LOL,if he goez 2chelsea (I hope he dasn't)1nc again he will hide under the shadows of chelsea superstars & jump when da seat get hotter, Oscar,Lampard,Terry,Cole,Demba Ba,Moses,Marta, Hazard u name dem,so 2me till he develop I'm still rating him as a good coach,NOT the best coz a real coach usually groom & develop #my opinion#. Yes Pep Guadiola left Barca wth a cheap, fluke cup last season #fact#
