'Dinho: United Should Have Signed Me
05 February 2013
Ronaldinho has claimed that Manchester United missed the opportunity to sign him from PSG early in his career.
The legendary Brazil international will come face to face against a handful of United players at Wembley on Wednesday night, and says that he could have been their team-mate or predecessor at Old Trafford, had the Red Devils not fluffed their lines in the transfer market.
Having been heavily linked to United in 2003, Ronaldinho went on to sign for Barcelona for £21 million, where he became the best player in the world and stuffed his pockets with trophies and awards.
Far from disparaging United, who have won more English top flight trophies than any other club, and the second-most European trophies, ‘Dinho does say they missed out on a golden opportunity.
The Samba star says United would surely have won even more had they signed him.
"If Manchester United had signed me they would have won more European Cups," Ronaldinho told sambafoot.com.
"I have played for some of the biggest teams in the world and won everything."
Later in his career, Ronaldinho was again linked to Manchester, but this time with United’s local rivals from across the city.
However, he opted instead to join Flamengo in his native Brazil, ensuring that neither Manchester side was lucky enough to benefit from his sometimes awe-inducing talents.
Do you think Ronaldinho would have succeeded in the EPL at the height of his career?

How ridiculous can @Gokuu get.don't you know how to read?you lied to @Barca4sky telling him that I said Mata,Torres & mata weren't properly developed in spain before they go to EPL.perhaps you should re-read my comment again.I never said what you think.I said EPL accomodates spanish footballers, not only spanish, but footballers who hv failed to develop their carrers in La Liga.It doesn't take much brain power for one to understand what I said.but you've failed to apprehend such a simple statement, then I just hv to assume that you're not the sharpest tool in the box when it comes to basic primary-school level of comprehension.so,before yo go shooting off your BIG mouth labelling everyone as 'Idiot, rather wait & get your facts straight.

Not at all. The move to Spain for him was a great one, best players are seldom found in the EPL.
