CR7: Real Too Strong For United
05 February 2013
On the day that Cristiano Ronaldo was linked by the British football rumour mill to Manchester City, the Real Madrid ace insisted that he would not celebrate if he scores against his old club, Manchester United.
Real Madrid take on Premier League leaders in the next round of the Uefa Champions League soon, and it will be the first time CR7 comes up against his former team since he left for a world £80 million in 2009.
While he promises to be on his best behaviour against the Red Devils, who made him into the star he is today, the fact is, Ronaldo expects to score against them.
Even though Los Blancos are struggling through an underwhelming season and United are a team on the up, Ronaldo thinks the Spanish champions will be too strong for Fergie’s men from the Theatre of Dreams.
"I believe things will go well. In my opinion Read Madrid have a better team, but we have to show that on the pitch because United are a very united team and always have been in recent years," Ronaldo the official Uefa Champions League magazine.
"They're a team that always do well, every year they're at the top and therefore a team we respect a lot. It will be an extremely difficult match, especially in Manchester."
CR7 admits that his confrontation with United is bound to be “emotional” for him, and that he is looking forward to seeing Alex Ferguson, who he still regards as a mentor and key member of his formative history.
"He taught me the basis of football. I arrived in Manchester when I was only 18. He managed my career in the best possible way and for me he is one of the most important people in football,” the Portuguese star said of United’s gruff Glaswegian grinch.
"I still have an excellent relationship with him and it will be nice to see him again."
What is your prediction for the showdown between CR7's struggling Real and highflying United?

I dnt really like man utd and that madrid but I think Ronaldo is counting his chicks before they hatch here. Man utd are currently on form and madrid will hv to be at their best to beat man utd (which they haven't been at their best recently)

Manchester will try very hard and will be dangerous as well but as Mr CR7 said they just cannot match the strength of RM. Mou is playing mind games on his UCL opponents by losing laliga games. Mou's target this season is the CL and he will SURELY be getting it.
