Cesc: I Can Play With Xavi And Iniesta
20 November 2012
For some reason, the Spanish football media has chosen this week to make a mountain out of Barcelona’s bursting central midfield.
With Spanish internationals Cesc Fabregas, Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta all good enough to play for any team on the planet, Barca boss Tito Vilanova has a taxing choice to make each time he selects his line-up.
So far this season, Vilanova has tried his best to rotate the dynamic trio, to keep them all as fresh as possible, and happy too.
But invariably, Fabregas has found the Xavi/Iniesta combination tough to split up, and he has been the one to start on the bench more often than not.
However, ahead of Barca’s Champions League tie at Spartak Moscow, former Arsenal star Fabregas says he and his fellow diminutive midfield schemers are capable of playing in the same starting XI.
"At Barcelona you do not play if you are not doing well," Fabregas said.
"I am playing a lot, giving everything, I am motivated and I am happy with my performances.
“Can we all play together? Well, we won a World Cup and Euro Championship together. I do not see a problem.
“But Tito is the one who must decide. We have players who can come in and refresh the team and it always goes well."
Meanwhile, Barca are determined to prove their loss to Celtic in the last round of group stage matches was but a hiccup, yet a trip to Russia is never an easy prospect.
Spartak in particular are tough nuts to crack, on their artificial pitch in arctic conditions.
But Fabregas is certainly confident, and insists that Barca can get the job done, to qualify for the knockout stage of the Champions League.
"The artificial grass and the cold will be neither a problem or an excuse," he said.
"Teams in the Champions League are always dangerous. And in Russia it always takes a lot.
“It will be a difficult game, but we want to win. We always play the same way and we will have to adapt to whatever they do."
Can a midfield trio of Fabregas, Xavi and Iniesta be effective for Barcelona?

Xavi and Iniesta minus Fabregas are the best midfielders in the world but the honest truth is that Xavi and Fabregas TALK TOOOO much and the best of the all Iniesta is a silent spectacular assassin
