Ballack: Pep Could Not Trust Chelsea
21 January 2013
Former Bayern Munich and Chelsea star, Michael Ballack, claims a lack of trust in Roman Abramovich compelled Pep Guardiola to opt for the Bavarian club over the London club.
Chelsea owner Abramovich had his heart set on luring Pep to Stamford Bridge, only for the Catalan schemer to sign for Bayern instead.
Like Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins before him, Ballack says that Abramovich’s trigger happy finger when it comes to hiring and firing managers surely turned Pep off.
Conversely, at the Allianz Arena, Guardiola will find a model of stability from which to fearlessly implement his trumpeted football philosophy.
"If you want to work as a coach for longer term you need consistency, trust in the club and also the environment around the club," Ballack said in the British football media, according to Soccernet.
"Maybe that is a point why he didn't sign [with Chelsea]. But it is also a big challenge as a coach. It's a fantastic signing for Bayern and for Pep Guardiola as well.
"Nobody in Germany expected him to sign. It shows the Bundesliga has grown a lot in the last few years and his decision looks like it's not all about money, he is a coach with a philosophy.
"He needs a good environment and will find this in Munich. There is a good atmosphere, that was a big reason to sign."

He wsnt gna be successful in England,It ws either France or Italy. Then he wen 4 Germany. He's an average coach who quit Barcelona while thy whr stil hot,If Frank Rijaard had quit Barcelona while thy whr stil hot,He wuld be the most wanted manager even now.
