Ade Fit For Gunners Clash
22 February 2012
Emmanuel Adebayor says he is winning his fitness battle ahead of Tottenham's weekend fixture.
The identity of Spurs' opponents is perhaps spurring Ade's recovery from a knee injury.
Because on Sunday, Ade hopes to accompany his team-mates to his old Arsenal stomping ground, for what is sure to a be a heated North London derby.
The Togo striker used to torment Spurs when he was a Gunner, and he is now hoping to the same in the opposite direction.
A hate figure for many Gunners fans after his acrimonious exit, Ade has worked his way into Spurs hearts by scoring 10 goals for them during his loan stint at White Hart Lane.
And he would surely love to add more to his account, and nails into Arsenal's coffin, by scoring against the Gunners this weekend.
And he is confident that he will be fit enough to do so.
"Really happy with the progress," Adebayor tweeted. "Knee is looking much better. Working on my fitness for Sunday."
