AmaZulu & Hammers Part Ways
27 January 2012
The Siya crew has it on good authority that AmaZulu and Gavin Hammers have parted ways. Initially, the KZN-based side wanted to loan the 20-year-old player out along with some of the other youngsters that have struggled to see regular game time at the club.
The players were sent to Mpumalanga Black Aces but were later turned down without even training with the NFD’s first team. Hammers’ agent, Ali Tlhoaele, confirmed to the Siya crew that in the end a decision was reached for the two parties to go their separate ways.
“Yes, we have terminated Gavin Hammers’ contract with AmaZulu amicably. The good thing is that I negotiated and agreed with the club for the player’s compensation fee.
“I’m also happy that I already have a club that is interested in having a look at him. He is flying to Cape Town on Thursday to start training with Vasco (Da Gama) on Friday,” said Tlhoaele.
