Kaizer Chiefs interim head coach Cavin Johnson has admitted that they were "not good enough" after their goalless draw against Polokwane City.

Chiefs missed the chance to seal a top eight spot with a match to spare after they drew blanks with Rise and Shine.

"I don't think we came out looking like we wanted to win it, I don't think we played like we know we can play, we can hold the ball, we gave the ball away too cheaply in the first-half," Johnson said on SuperSport.

"This is a good team, they can punish you and with all respect to them they almost punished us and we came to the second-half and only really switched on in the last 30 minutes.

"We got a few chances but not clear-cut chances and yes, we should have played better. I'm not happy with the way we're ending the second-last game. We can come out a lot better or we have come out of the last games looking much stronger, looking much better and we didn't get that aggression today from our players.

"I thought we were not good enough technically. You know sometimes technically you must be better on the ball and we were not."

Johnson went on and said that his attack did not show up.

"Ja Ranga (Chivaviro) did not show up, (Christian) Saile was on the sides, I thought he had one or two chances, I thought 'Shabba' (Mduduzi Shabalala) had one chance but not to be but we can't do anything about it," he said.

"All we can say is we got a point from the game, we could be happy but we have to do better next time."

The former SuperSport United head coach surprisingly brought on Happy Mashiane in the first stanza as a replacement for striker Ashley Du Preez, who got injured.

"Ja look Ashley gets injured, Happy comes on and makes one good cross but he stopped, he needs to do it more and more and be a wave but we didn't get it from him. Ja maybe because of game time but he doesn't give us that," Johnson explained.
