Zanetti Prepared To Improve On Mourinho Season

Inter Milan legend Javier Zanetti is confident that the club can build on last seasons’s success under new boss Rafael Benitez.
The Nerazzurri dominated the Italian football scene last season by winning the league and cup double and then capping off the historic season by winning Europe’s elite trophy, the Champions League.
Zanetti commanded his team to their treble winning season and the captain believes that they can improve on the quality they showed under former coach Jose Mourinho.
“Day after day we are trying to improve and get into shape,” Zanetti told Italian journalists at an official Inter press conference. “There is a new Coach who is trying to transmit his credibility and mentality to the squad.”
He went on, “Clearly it’ll take some time to assimilate it all, but I believe right from this season we’ll see Inter at the forefront. We will know how to add something more to the quality we already have. There is no feeling that we need to make comparisons with last term.”
Inter striker Mario Balotelli is on the verge of striking a deal with Manchester City and, as it had been previously reported, some of the senior players in the squad have supposedly expressed their dissatisfaction with the striker’s behavior, urging him to pack his bags and leave.
The Inter captain has played down the rumours saying that all is well in the Nerazzurri camp. “We are all together and there are no issues. Balotelli is only training separately from the group due to a muscular problem,” concluded the captain.
