German club Mainz have yet to decide whether or not to sign Ghana striker Dominic Adiyiah despite having already agreed terms with the player and his club AC Milan.

The club's general manager Christian Heidel revealed that coach Thomas Tuchel is in two minds regarding Adiyiah, and could well reverse his initial decision to bring striker to Germany from the San Siro.

"We are not putting ourselves under any pressure,'' said Heidel in German football publication kicker.

"He is one of several options. We still have to consider whether we want to sign a young striker or rather an experienced player.

"If we are not convinced, then we will stick with the players we have. Our team is competitive and we could start (the season) tomorrow.''

Adiyiah came to prominence after impressing for the young Black Stars in their romp towards the U-20 World Cup title in 2009.

At the tournament he was top scorer, with eight goals in seven matches, winning the Golden Shoe and Most Valuable Player Awards.

He was selected for the senior Black Stars team to play in the World Cup in South Africa, but his tournament ended on a low point when he missed a penalty in Ghana's quarter-final shoot-out loss to Uruguay.
