For the first time ever, the national school Metropolitan champions will play in an international schools tournament in Brazil.

Metropolitan Group general, Christabel Kota, told the Siya crew that they want to give the young players international exposure at a tender age.

“Last year the winners got R50 000 and they did not go for any international trip. It will be different this time around. The winning school will not only win the prize money but also represent the country in the international schools tournament in Brazil early next year. We are glad that we are part of this development as Metropolitan,” Kota said.

The national finals where each province will be represented by two schools will be played in Buffalo City, Eastern Cape from September 28 to October 2.

Price Money has nothing to do wit development. Some countries in Africa are not so prevaraged to get such opportunities. Thats wat has killed our soccer here, coz we put money in front be4 thinking of the future. This is a 'vision' so stop yo rubbish nd start thinking positive.

@winner. R50000 daznt mean Metropoltn wl only spend tht. Thez travelling, accomdtn, food, security and admin fees to b paid here. And ths is nt abt mny but development and exposure to our young talent. These boyz mst think success not money. Tht is d differnce between Xavi and Teko.

I stand with winner 50G is nothing. To uplift our standard of football, players must be exposed to us first nationally. If Sabc can start to broadcast the Mvela league games every weekend. That will benefit the game. development structure
