McCarthy Close To Zubar Signing

Wolverhampton manager Mick McCarthy is reportedly close to completing the signing of Marseille defender Ronald Zubar.

The Premier League newcomers are believed to have agreed a fee for the centre-half, believed to be in the region of GBP 2.5 million.

Zubar is due to undergo a medical at the club and discuss personal terms over the transfer, having been granted permission to leave the club as manager Didier Deschamps does not see the 23-year-old featuring in his long-term plans.

McCarthy sees Zubar as a great component to his squad, as Wolves look to compete in their first season back in the top flight.
