Winning is an attitude, the sooner you get to it, the better.

The pre-season has began, many teams both locally and abroad have been participating in friendly matches, or tournaments as preparations for the coming season.

Kaizer Chiefs was one of the local teams in a tournament of the Maize Cup. Chiefs began strong as a brace from Paez saw Chiefs beat Township Rollers 2-0 as they went to the finals.

A whole new squad was introduced in the finals as Chiefs looked to give other players game time. Free state Stars were no push over, they wanted to win the tournament. Chiefs struggled and failed to break down Free State Stars defence in the first half.

It was in the second half late where Chiefs had a moment of brilliance, George Lebese showed his class as a goal from him decided the outcome of the tournament, Chiefs being crowned 2017 Champions of the Maize Cup with a 1-0 win over Free State Stars.

Winning is an attitude, the sooner you get to it, the better. There is never a small or friendly match when it comes to Chiefs. The fans and sponsors no doubt were happy, mostly Chiefs players and Coach Steve Khompela.

Can Chiefs carry this winning attitude to the Black Label match against Pirates? Is this a foreshadow of what to expect from Chiefs?
