“It Seems Like Komphela Has Not Learned From His Past Mistakes” – Reader’s Voice
The confusion which Komphela brought the past two seasons, seems like it will continue.
Steve Komphela struggled to find his "A" team for the starting line up the past seasons and one would argue that he was still experimenting, but at what cost? As a result, Chiefs lost many crucial matches which saw Kaizer Chiefs go two seasons without silverware.
Chiefs have been involved in few pre-season matches, from the Bokone Bophirima Maize tournament playing with Botswana's Township Rollers and the Carling Black Label Cup. The team played against Chippa United in a friendly match where they lost 1-0 and in all these matches the experimenting continued with Komphela.
One can argue that Steve was giving players game time and assessing them, while that may be true, I believe Komphela should have a consistent starting line up. Experimenting time is over, we need results!
Allowing the same starting line up gives those players enough time to gel together, and have a better understanding of each other on the field of play.
From the looks of things, it seems Komphela has not learned from his past mistakes. Until he gets his "winning team", a consistent starting line up, Chiefs will yet again have a season without any silverware.
2017/18 will be long at Naturena…
