“Does Lebese Really Want To Leave Chiefs?” – Reader’s Voice
There are news making rounds that Kaizer Chiefs’ left winger George Lebese handed in his transfer request.
Lebese is expected to meet with Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela on Monday. The news did not go down well with Kaizer Motaung Snr and he wants the matter sorted before it gets out of hand.
During the off-season break, Lebese took to social media to show his frustration when he said all he wanted to do was to play football regardless of the colour of the shirt he put on.
Without a doubt Lebese loves Kaizer Chiefs, he might be frustrated by his lack of game time, but leaving is a separate issue.
Lebese turned down an opportunity to go overseas with a Turkish side that offered him a big salary with his contract coming to an end at Chiefs, but the Mamelodi-born trickster extended his stay with the Phefeni boys instead.
So, now I think it’s not a transfer request but a way to get more game time and force management to interfere in Komphela's work.
The question remains, will Chiefs risk their relationship with their coach or will they let go of their star? Downs, on the other hand, are reportedly watching the situation very closely.
Do you think George really wants to leave or does he just want more game time in Komphela's team?
